Congratulations to Lucy!
Lucy and Lynn were back in Calgary for Agility on the weekend and had 4 qualifying runs out of 7. In the Agility Association of Canada that's fantastic as to get a Q you must have a perfect run - 100 out of 100. In other Agility Associations you are allowed up to 15 faults. They are now in Master's Gambler and have 2 legs in Master's Jumpers and 1 leg in Master's Standard. Congratulations on an amazing weekend!

AND David Zygmont in Pennsylvania reports that their "Autumn" Piroska Dawn's Early Light celebrated her 15th birthday July 2nd 08 and is still active. This litter was also out of Bonanza but by Ch Jaybren's Kutya V Viesoo. | Sunni loves Agility!
Having finished her CDX Jackie took Sunni to an Agility fun match, even though it had been several months away from Agility. You can see Sunni loves it and clears the 22" by most of a foot. |

Keeper and Maxine win 3rd place in the Open Derby Field Trial at Chilliwack, BC May 18 put on by the BC All Breed Pointer Club.

Here is a picture of Loki and Lori getting his first leg in Field Dog tests on Saturday May 3 and he followed up with another leg on Sunday. Congratulations to our Calgary kids - well on their way to another title. Lori's new pup from Colorado, a little girls called Vega, showed her skill and determination by retrieving a Chukar half her size, even though she had to stop for a pee midway!

one knew she was in foal when they brought her home several months ago.

In the
picture where 2 are wet & still have their stripes they are
only minutes old. When they dry from the amniotic fluid and the dam's
constant licking for about 15 minutes to clean them up and get the
lungs working and the blood flowing, then the stripes disappear. They
sense by smell where the teats are and go straight to them. As they
grow the dam rolls further on her side to expose both rows of teats.
Until then they burrow in if the uppers are taken, sometimes upside
down to make drawing down easier.
I still get teary at the magic of nature even after dozens of litters.

(Toldi x Pele puppy, born April 1, 2005)Nelson finished his US Championship by going BOW at the Monroe K.C. show in the entry of 19 Vizslas under judge Dr. Donald Spritzer. Nelson is owned by Bonnie King near Toronto, and breeder/co-owners are B. & H. Brinkworth and F. & M. Lacko.
(In August 1999, Dr. Spritzer awarded Toldi, Nelson's dad his first 5 point Major from Specialty at the Vizsla Club of Michigan Specialty, so today's US Championship win was very special for us) Both dogs were handled by breeder/co-owners. Toldi by Francois Bernier, his breeder and co-owner and Nelson by Frank.

Field Tests at Chilliwack Sept. 22/23
"Leia" Am/Can Ch Piroska Toldin's Leading Edge FD CGN, a Toldi/Pele girl completed her FD title in 3 straight runs all in mid-80s. She ran an FDX run but broke and caught a flushed bird.
"Keeper" Piroska Toldin Keeping it Goin FD CGN, a Toldi/Pele boy of 15 months old earned his FD title. He did some victory laps on his 2nd test retrieve so was DQ'd but came back on his 3rd & 4th with scores of 97 & 95 and 10 imaginary bonus points for "goofiness" - the judge loved his exuberance and joie de vivre. He is owned by Maxine Moinier with us as co-owners.
"Fling" Ch Piroska Sunfire's Final Fling FDJ CGN, a Fire/Tasha girl gained 1 leg on her FD. On her others she made 2 solid points but on the 3rd broke and grabbed the bird.
"Siri" Ch Piroska's Christmas Star, a Fire/Poco girl finished her FDJ in 3 runs with a 95 on the 3rd and had a try at an FD run. She is owned by Dr. Eric & Barbara James of Sidney.
Maxine handled these dogs in 16 runs with her torn knee and walked at least 15 miles this weekend. The bird field was the roughest I have ever seen - half covered with blackberries and thistles 3-8' high.

Ch Dunantul's Czardas of Tiera (Charlie, a Falco/Ruby pup) won Best In Specialty at the Trails End Vizsla Club's Specialty in Eugene, Oregon over 32 Vizslas, including 13 Champions on Sept 9. His sister, Windy, took Winner's Bitch the next day for 2 points so just needs that elusive 1 point now! These dogs are owned by Ben & Joanne Weldon, who are the breeders and Charlie is co-owned by Jill Brennan. They are just 19 months old so this is particularly exciting news. Congratulations to all!

Windy won Best of Winners at the Puget sound Vizsla Club Specialty. She and her littermate Charlie, also owned by Joanne & Ben Weldon, made up 2 of the 5 dogs in the final cut for Best of Breed out of the 25 Vizslas entered.

Woodstock Wins
July 13, 14, & 15 Several conformation shows were held at Woodstock Ontario, including the Vizsla Society of Ontario on Saturday and the Vizsla Canada National specialty on Sunday.
"Nelson "- CH Piroska Toldin's Javelin (Toldi/Pele) completed his CH in 1 1/2 days with 3 majors with BOW, WD, WD, BOW, and BOB over several Specials who were there for the Ont and Nat Specialties. Frank Lacko handled him for owner Bonnie King of Toronto. Frank is also a co-owner along with Martha Lacko and B & H Brinkworth.
On Labor Day weekend in Michigan Nelson went Best of winners twice so now needs just 1 point for his Am Ch. Congratulations to Nelson and Frank!

"Thought I'd let you know what Mara and I have been up to....we drove to Boston!!
Mara is the best travel companion anyone could ever have!!! She's in great shape now, swimming and running every day and becoming a better agility dog every day!! She brings me great joy every day and is a very happy girl.
I never even considered leaving her at home....the whole 16,000km trip was planned around where Mara could stay and play. As long as we are together Mara will be included in my travel plans." Sue

Latest News - June 18, 2007
This weekend at the Nanaimo KC show Hilarie handled Thunda in obedience, completing the 3 legs of her Companion Dog (CD) title, averaging over 190, with a High in Class, and high NKC Average. On Saturday it rained and blew all day on the outdoor ring. Thunda would have had another 191 1/2 on her first run but refused to "Down" on the cold, wet grass! On the next 3 tests they performed well. Sunday was almost dry but with a cold wind. Congratulations to both!
Cindy Brewster reports from Washington State that Rez gained 2 legs on his Senior Hunter title. It is more difficult in the US as you must obtain 4 legs (instead of our 3) and you are braced with another dog and handler at all 3 levels, rather than just the 3rd level of FDX here. Good hunting Rez!
Field Test Successes!
At the BCABPC Field Dog Tests on Nicomen Island June 9/10 2007 Maxine Moinier handled Leia and Keeper to their Field Dog Jr. (FDJ) titles and Scanner to his FD (Field Dog) title. She is owned by Dr Eric and Barbara James of Sidney (18 mi east of Victoria) who have taken her to obedience and agility classes and run her daily in huge fields to develop her to this stage. Thank you all for developing the potential in this little girl. The skies the limit for this Star, truly versatile in multiple events.

Leia finished her Am Ch at Puyallup, WA , Jan 14 going BOW under Ms Wilcox The following weekend she went BOS to the #1 Vizsla in the US as a Special under judge Ms Sandra Olson. Leia was always handled in the US by Maxine Moinier. Show picture coming. Shown at WA Specialty where she went RW & BOW. She has 2 legs on her FDJ and is looking forward to more tests this spring, also handled by Maxine.
In the 3 days between finishing her Championship in Puyallup and going BOS in her first show as a Special in Portland, Leia shows what a versatile girl she is. Maxine took her to the Bear Creek Pheasant Farm in Oregon for a day hunting pheasants in the snow.

Rocket was BOW at the Fayetteville Kennel Club show in Concord, NC on Sunday November 19, 2006 for his FOURTH 4 Point major to finish his US show championship. The judge was Mrs. Peggy Hogg. Rocket was handled by 15- year old Junior Showman, Ashley Cummings. Ashley was top Junior Showman on Sunday as well. Ashley and Rocket were a beautiful pair. She really understands how to show Rocket off!

Rocket Piroska Toldin We Have Liftoff JH NAVHDA Prize 2 was Winner's Dog at the Columbia Kennel club show in Columbia, SC for a 4 point major under judge Norm Patton on 9/30/06.
Rocket was also Winner's Dog, Best of Opposite at the Columbia Kennel Club show in Columbia, SC for a 4 point major under judge Richard Chashoudian.
Field Test Successes!
Saturday and Sunday the BC All Breed Pointer Club held 3 FDJ, & FD tests and 2 FDX tests at Nicomen Island on the Fraser River, east of Mission. 3 qualifying scores are needed for a title.
Sascha, owned by Molly and Jonathon Lawlor, ran twice with Jonathon for scores of 92 and 85 to obtain her FDJ to add to her CH. Congratulations! They hope to go for FD now!
Fling had scores of 95, 95.5 & 95 to complete her FDJ.
Leia had no bird find on her first run but had scores of 83 and 78.5 for 2 legs on her FDJ.
Scanner had scores of 91, 88.5 and on his 3rd run retrieved a bird 200 feet to hand but upon pointing another just before time, it ran so he pounced on it and was disqualified.
We can't thank Maxine enough for all these runs with dogs she hadn't worked with before, having to leave here on Friday, 2 days after returning from a vacation in Greece, and then going back Sunday night not getting home until 11 pm!

Loki and Lori do it again!!
Loki (Piroska Toldin's Sentry NAVHDA NA Prize II) was in the puppy stake of the Calgary Pointing Dog Club Field Trial on Aug. 27 and he came in 2nd place!!!! It was pretty hot out (28ish) but that didnt slow Loki down at all --- this dog can hunt! Apparently it's the 1st time a Vizsla has placed in a field trial in Alberta in a long time. The rest of the competition was Brittany Spaniels and one Weimaraner.

On Aug 8 '06, the hottest day of the year, Loki ran his first two legs in Field Dog Tests in Calgary and earned the fantastic score of 90/100 and in the even more excessive heat of the afternoon had an 85/100! What great team work from these two for their first experience!!

Friday Lacko's Tula went Reserve Winner's Bitch and on Saturday she went Winner's Bitch to finish her American Championship with a 3rd 5 pt win from a specialty in the Bred By class . Toldi won the Veteran's class Saturday and then they luckily got out of town as 30" of snow fell. Many of the other Vs were staying for the Westminster show Monday & Tuesday.New Jersey Vizsla Specialties Feb. 10 & 11

Fire and Bernadette made a great team and titled and placed first in 26" regular in both Masters Jumpers, and Masters Gamblers to earn the coveted Agility Trial Championship. Fire competes in the 26 inch jump height in the AAC regular Masters class, the highest level. In AAC rules no errors are allowed! Piroska's Golden Glory (d.o.b. Aug 18/04) completed her Canadian Championship on July 16/05 at the Sporing Dog Specialty weekend in Surrey, B.C. Proud owners are Heidi and Michael Bray, Victoria. Kali is out of "Poco" Ch Poco Bueno CGC TT x "Tarzan" Am/Can Ch Piroska's Sunfire's Spark JH FDJ) Kali is handled by Reagan O'Hagan.

Scanner and Frank did it at the all breed show this Specialty weekend! Co-breeder handled, Scanner iced the shows on Saturday and Sunday with BOB over a large entry and then received Grp 2nd from Bud Haverstock (Pictured) and on Sunday, from Mrs. Paula Hartinger, Grp 2nd again. Way to go Scanner man! Scanner was bred and is owned by Barrie & Hilarie Brinkworth of Piroska Vizslas and handled by Frank Lacko, his co-breeder.

Scanner was handled by Frank Lacko, owner of Scanner's sire Toldi.
This was a well attended Booster show with 54 Vizslas and the MVVC Specialty had an entry of 78 dogs. What an achievement for Scanner & Frank who have added one title last weekend, FDJ with Highest Qualifying Score, and now the American Championship with 3 - 5 point Majors and then some from the International panel of Judges. (Canadians like him, Australians like him and Americans like him too!)Results and great pictures from the show are posted on 2005 Show Page on the MVVC web site. It was a great Specialty and show, thanks to the MVVC members, who always make us feel welcome. Tula (Can CH Toldin Steel's Legend Builder FDJ) showed her heart out, but was overlooked this weekend, but her last month's win of BOW at Central Wisconsin Vizsla Club Specialty under the breeder/judge is still sweet.

... Best of Breed, Best Puppy in Group and a Group 2 at the Comox Valley Kennel Club Show June 12, under Judge Guy Jeavons!! This little gal is doing very well in the show ring.

Ch Piroska's Bronze Medallion finished his championship title at 10 months (plus 3 days at the Nanaimo Kennel Club Show on June 18 with a Best of Breed win over a nice class of dogs. Congratulations to owner Bonnie Cooper and many thanks to Maxine Monier for handling this pup with such love and expertise. Loki is a Poco x Tarzan offspring and his littermate, sister Kali, is just one point short of her championship.

"Scanner" Ch Piroska Toldin's Search Engine FDJ CGC TT (out of Pele x Toldi Dec. 24/02) gets his FDJ title at the Field Tests in May/June 2005.
The pictures below show Frank Lacko and an eager Scanner at the Field Dog Tests in Ontario waiting for his turn in the field (left photograph) and on the right a picture of Scanner and Frank receiving their qualifying ribbons and congratulations for the high score of the test on Sunday.

Many thanks to Bernadette for super handling and to both her and Dave for making his trip and ring time so much fun and so successful! Two weeks before this team finished Fire in CKC AGI for another title!
... and to Jackie Boyd and "Roamin'" Dual Ch Piroska Roamin' In The Sun TD CGC on placing No. 1 Vizsla in Obedience for 2004 -- Jackie and Roamin' are having a lot of fun in obedience and the field and it shows with his performances! Way to go, Team!!
